Position Summary
 

Pulaski Academy seeks a dynamic, relationship-focused professional to serve as the Director of Special Events and Community Engagement. This position plays a key role in advancing the school's mission through exceptional event execution, meaningful volunteer engagement, and strategic communication.

Working with the Advancement team, this position will elevate awareness of the school's philanthropic priorities, strengthen constituent engagement, and ensure the successful planning and implementation of Advancement events and volunteer-driven initiatives.

Essential Position Duties


Special Events

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Advancement events throughout the year.
  • Manage event-related communications, timelines, logistics, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Partner with Advancement and school leadership to create meaningful experiences that strengthen community connections and philanthropic support.
  • Support event budgeting, vendor coordination, volunteer management, and post-event evaluation.
     

Volunteer Engagement and Leadership

  • Serve as the staff liaison to the Pulaski Academy Parents' Association (PAPA).
  • Coordinate communication and engagement efforts with volunteers supporting Advancement initiatives.
  • Manage volunteer recruitment, training, communication, and recognition for annual events and others, determined by needs, including but not limited to:
    • Bruin Bash
    • Fund for Excellence
    • Grandparents' Day
    • Other Advancement-related events and initiatives

Donor and Community Relations

  • Foster relationships with parents, grandparents, alumni, and volunteers.
  • Support stewardship efforts by communicating the impact of philanthropic support.
  • Assist in recognizing and celebrating volunteers and donors through thoughtful engagement and appreciation initiatives.

Advancement Communications

  • Oversee and coordinate all Advancement communications in partnership with the Director of Communications/Marketing and Digital Storyteller.
  • Collaborate on content strategy and storytelling that supports fundraising, donor engagement, stewardship, alumni relations, and community-building initiatives.
  • Develop and manage communication plans for Advancement campaigns, events, and special projects.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment, in partnership with the Communications department, across Advancement-related communications
  • Assist in creating stewardship materials, event communications, and fundraising collateral.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience in communications, marketing, event management, nonprofit development, education advancement, or a related field preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects

Position Overview

Pulaski Academy (PA) seeks a strategic and relationship-driven Major Gifts and Alumni Relations Director to join its Advancement Team. This individual will play a central role in advancing philanthropic support and strengthening alumni engagement, with a particular emphasis on the school’s upcoming Capital Campaign.

The Director will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, cultivate meaningful relationships with key constituents, and implement a comprehensive alumni relations program that fosters lifelong connections to the school. Candidates must demonstrate a sustained record of advancement leadership with measurable fundraising outcomes.

Key Responsibilities and Demonstrated Success Measures

  • Major Gifts: Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, focusing on gifts of $100,000+
    • Demonstrated success securing and stewarding major gifts of $100,000+ in an independent school or comparable mission-driven environment, with a consistent record of closing six-figure commitments. 
  • Capital Campaign: Partner with senior leadership to execute strategies supporting campaign planning and implementation.
    • Proven leadership in Capital Campaign execution, including partnership with senior leadership to advance campaign strategy and achieve defined fundraising goals. 
  • Alumni Relations: Develop and lead programs that increase alumni engagement, participation, giving, and alumni board development.
    • Proven track record of strengthening alumni engagement and philanthropy within a school community, including increasing participation, giving, and developing effective alumni leadership structures. 
  • Relationship Management: Serve as an ambassador for PA through consistent outreach, visits, and engagement with alumni, parents, and donors.

  • Development Strategy: Develop a plan to cultivate major donors and corporate sponsorships, as well as a gift management, recognition, and stewardship strategy for all key stakeholders.
    • Experience designing and implementing a comprehensive advancement strategy that integrates major gifts, corporate partnerships, stewardship, and donor recognition aligned with institutional priorities. 
  • Leadership: Recruit, train, and guide volunteers to play an active role in major gift fundraising and campaign initiatives.
    • Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers in support of major gifts and campaign initiatives. 
  • Ambassador: Represent PA at major school, donor, and alumni events, and maintain an active presence in the Little Rock community as an ambassador for the school.
    • Established credibility as an ambassador for a school or community organization, with an active presence in the Little Rock community and experience representing the institution at key events. 
  • Advancement Operations: Maintain accurate donor records, track progress toward goals, and ensure best practices in stewardship and reporting.
    • Proficiency in advancement operations, including donor database management, portfolio tracking, and reporting to support data-informed decision-making and goal attainment. 
  • Communication strategy and public speaking: Communicate with key stakeholders about PA, our Capital Campaign, and the opportunity to shape our organization's future. 
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate PA’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities to diverse stakeholders. 
  • Event management: Plan and host small gatherings for alumni and key stakeholders to promote the school and our Capital Campaign.
    • Proven ability to plan and execute targeted, high-impact donor and alumni engagements that deepen relationships and drive philanthropic support. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in fundraising, major gifts, and advancement.
  • Demonstrated success in major gifts or comparable relationship-based revenue generation.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Willingness to travel and work both locally and out of state on special events, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Position Summary

Pulaski Academy is seeking qualified candidates for Summer Day Camp Teacher positions. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Summer Day Camp Teacher is responsible for confidently managing daily classroom operations while ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive experience of all campers in their care.

Teachers must be energetic, enthusiastic, and highly organized, demonstrating professionalism and respect for a shared classroom environment. The ideal candidate is flexible, creative, and adaptable in a dynamic camp setting.

Essential Position Duties and Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead campers by example while adhering to all camp policies and guidelines

Position Summary

This full-time, 10-month position is for a faculty position in our Lower School Division. Teachers maintain a learning environment that promotes a healthy balance of academic rigor and social/emotional development by engaging in research-based, best practice teaching strategies. Essential Position Duties

Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing instruction in language arts, literacy, and mathematics to students in a classroom, utilizing a course of study adopted by Pulaski Academy Lower School.
  • Working collaboratively with grade-level team in planning for instruction and grade-level activities
  • Developing lesson plans and instructional materials to provide differentiated and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and align with the adopted standards and mission.
  • Using a variety of instructional and assessment strategies (IMSE-Orton Gillingham phonics, Guided Reading, literature discussion groups, workshop model of instruction, etc) to facilitate collaboration and higher-level thinking.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will prioritize safety over schedule, provide courteous and respectful service, and support students’ needs while adhering to all transportation procedures and regulations. Essential Functions 

  • Safely operate a school bus in compliance with all traffic laws and school policies.
  • Ensure the safety of students when boarding, exiting, and crossing streets.
  • Perform daily inspections of bus systems, including tires, brakes, lights, fuel, oil, and safety equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior and foster a respectful environment for passengers.
  • Pick up and drop off students and staff at scheduled stops and special event locations, adhering to established time schedules.
  • Maintain order among passengers to ensure safety and comfort during transport.
  • Report delays, accidents, malfunctions, or needed repairs promptly.
  • Complete required reports, such as mileage, fuel use, trips taken, and hours worked.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of first-aid procedures and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Communicate effectively using telephones or two-way radios as needed.
  • Escort younger children across streets and assist passengers with boarding and exiting.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brakes, passenger, and school bus endorsements required.
  • Must successfully complete a DOT physical, pre-employment drug test, FBI and ASP background checks, and a Child Maltreatment background check.

The Extended Day teacher, under the supervision of the Program Director,  is responsible for confidently managing day-to-day classroom duties and supporting the overall well-being and safety of the students in their charge. Teachers must be dependable, energetic, and enthusiastic regarding their assigned roles in and out of the classroom, and have a desire to grow professionally. The ideal candidate is flexible, creative, and adaptable to a changing work environment. This position qualifies for health benefits, 401K, and tuition reduction. 

The Extended Day programs work closely with campus-wide division Heads to provide a pathway for standout candidates to transition to future full-time positions at Pulaski Academy. 

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of a high school diploma
  2. Must successfully pass a background check 
  3. 1-year minimum experience in a camp/classroom setting, or youth program, working directly with children, or in a related field. Education major preferred, but not mandatory

Position Summary
The General Maintenance Worker will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, general landscaping, and other building systems. 

Essential Position Duties
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
  • Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
  • Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
    • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
    • Ability to use hand tools and power tools and lawn equipment. 

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
    • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.

    Position Summary
    Pulaski Academy seeks a thorough housekeeper with excellent cleanliness standards to attend to all areas of our facilities. The goal is to enhance customer experience by keeping our facilities in clean and orderly condition.

    Essential Position Duties
    Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

    • Clean and tidy all areas to the standard cleanliness within time limits
    • Deliver excellent customer service
    • Create daily job lists and record all serviced rooms
    • Maintain equipment in good condition
    • Report on any shortages, damages, or security issues
    • Handle reasonable guest complaints/requests and inform others when required
    • Check stocking levels of all consumables
    • Comply with health and safety regulation and act in line with company policies and licensing laws

      Required Skills/Abilities:

      • Proven working experience in relevant field
      • Ability to work independently and remain motivated
      • Helpful with customer service orientation
      • Prioritisation and time management skills
      • Professionalism, along with speed and attention to detail
      • Knowledge of the English language
      • High school degree

      Experience:

      • Housekeeping: 1 year (Preferred)
