Malone Scholar

In July 2010, Pulaski Academy was selected as a recipient of a 2 million dollar grant from the Malone Family Foundation to provide scholarships for academically gifted students with financial needs.

Malone Scholars are chosen by Pulaski Academy based on academic merit and financial need alone without regard to race, creed, or any demographic characteristics.

The Malone fund supports certain school-related expenses such as:

  • tuition
  • book fees
  • computers and other educational materials
  • costs for participation in school-sponsored competitions.

“Our goal is to provide an outstanding education to every young student who is among the top five percent of his or her class, and who displays the keen desire and motivation to learn, yet lacks the resources to finance such an education.”

Cathie Wlaschin, Executive Director of the Malone Family Foundation based in Englewood, Colorado.

Malone Scholars

I am extremely happy to be at PA. Everyone has welcomed me and made me a part of this great community/family.

I'm so glad I get the opportunity to go to Pulaski Academy, a school that has given me such amazing teachers, friends, and opportunities for me to thrive and grow as a person.

I've been making steady strides in all my classes and am proud of my academic growth from last year as I currently have a cumulative 4.25 GPA.

My favorite class has been band, with Mr. Martens. I play the clarinet and I made All Region and qualified for All State this year.

I made so many new friends my senior year and they are wonderful. I really appreciate how PA is trying their best to make everything as normal as possible while trying to keep us all safe. I really loved attending PA and how our community is one big family.

The Malone Family Foundation was founded in 1997 by Dr. John C. Malone, a well-known communication and media executive and investor, and his family. The purpose of the foundation has one principal objective: “To improve access to quality education — particularly at the secondary school level — for gifted students who lack the financial resources to best develop their talents.”
