PA Mourns Loss of Wendell Flemister
The Pulaski Academy community is deeply saddened by the loss of one of its own. PA parent Wendell Flemister, father of Alex, a junior, and Blake, a freshman, was killed in a tragic accident while on vacation with his family in Mexico last week. Wendell was laid to rest in Little Rock on Monday, March 26. He was 50 years old. Below is a message from Wendell's family to the PA community:
Dear PA Family,
Alex, Blake and I would like to thank you for the overwhelming love and support we have received this last week. The outpouring of love shown by calls, texts, visits, food, flowers, and attendance at Wendell’s visitation and funeral will never be forgotten. We will never forget and always be thankful for your friendship. Wendell always loved PA, and all the great people. He felt this was a wonderful investment in the boys' future. Unfortunately, it is not until something like this happens that you really realize how close our PA family is and the importance of friends and family ties.
As we head into a future that is far different than we had planned, please continue to keep us in your prayers. We know the hardest time is yet to come, but we are comforted by the fact that we will not walk this path alone.

Bruin Scribe Editors Named
Pulaski Academy has many outstanding writers and artists in its student body. Each year students in grades 5-8 can submit their creative writings and artwork for selection to the Middle School’s own literary journal, the Bruin Scribe. It is a great honor to have your poem, short story or artwork selected to be published in the Bruin Scribe. Students submit their work from March through April, with the editors making their final selections and completing the book in May each year. Each student in the Middle School receives a copy the last week of school. Editors are selected each year by their teachers for their outstanding writing ability and great work ethic.
This year’s editors are:
5th Grade: Mary Elizabeth Engskov, Christian Greer, and Sophia Young
6th Grade: Tatum Smith, Blair James, and David Shelton
7th Grade: Reagan Allen, Drake Omar, and Maddy McCulloch
8th Grade: Matthew Carey, David Xiang, Kendall Greer, Sophia Nelson, Bailey McKinney, and Sophia Post
