Pulaski Academy welcomed William Topich for a Book Signing event to celebrate the release of his second book, Pakistan, on Friday, October 1st, 2018. Mr. Topich signed books on the Pulaski Academy campus in the Peeples Gallery.
In Pakistan, Topich evaluates the changing nature of U.S. policy in the region, including analysis of policy regarding drone strikes that target various radical groups, of state stabilization options, and of ongoing United States-Pakistan relations. His assessment of Pakistan's key role in global security accounts for the country's longstanding conflict with India, the Afghanistan wars, and the impact of the attacks of September 11, 2001, and identifies possible future scenarios for Pakistan and the accompanying implications for security.
Mr. Topich is chair of the Department of Social Science at Pulaski Academy. He is also adjunct professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. His courses include politics of developing areas, world cultures, and global issues. His published work includes Greenwood's The History of Myanmar and contributions to Greenwood's The Vietnam War: Handbook of the Literature and Research. Topich conducted research in Cambodia in the late 1990s and most recently in Pakistan in 2010.
