The Early Childhood School (Cub Academy-Kindergarten) is where it all begins at Pulaski Academy! It is a warm and happy place where each day is designed to provide the foundation for success in PA’s college preparatory curriculum. The focus of our program offering is a Reggio Emilia inspired curriculum that provides opportunities for early childhood students to increase their critical thinking skills in every aspect of our program throughout the day.  This progressive, child-led approach to learning allows students to make connections through exploration and discovery by using their senses, asking questions, and making observations.  A safe, nurturing, and creative environment is provided for a diverse community of rapidly developing children. Each day, students build important cognitive, social, emotional, motor, perceptual, language, listening, speaking, and writing skills through play-based activities in which they experiment, collaborate, solve problems, and learn to think creatively.

The Reggio Emilia approach promotes
responsibility for learning between the child, teacher, and peers.  Our experienced and dedicated faculty believes that children are naturally curious, creative, and eager. Teachers encourage learning by doing hands on activities, promoting cooperation rather than competition, and having high expectations for the pursuit of educational excellence.  These objectives are best realized in a setting offering security, academic challenge, and a sense of achievement.

The children especially enjoy and benefit from the integrated studies taught by specialists in Spanish, Music, Art, Physical Education, Library, and STEAM. Everyone in the Early Childhood School is a member of a community of learners. We strive to provide an atmosphere of excitement where children love school and discover that learning is fun. Through a collaborative team effort, educators, parents, and community resources guide the youngest students at Pulaski Academy to become thoughtful, responsible, and successful, and to reach their highest potential
