Financial Aid

Malone Scholar

John C. Malone
In July 2010, Pulaski Academy was selected as the recipient of a four-year grant from the Malone Family Foundation to provide scholarships for gifted students with financial need. Pulaski Academy receives $100,000 in each of the next four years to be used solely for scholarships.
“Our goal is provide an outstanding education to every young student who is among the top five percent of his or her class, and who displays the keen desire and motivation to learn, yet lacks the resources to finance such an education,” said Cathie Wlaschin, Executive Director of the Malone Family Foundation based in Englewood, Colorado.
Pulaski Academy is the only Arkansas school selected for the 2011-12 Malone grant, and one of only 38 independent schools in the country selected. Malone Scholars are selected by Pulaski Academy on the basis of merit and financial need alone without regard to race, creed or any demographic characteristics.

“The generous grant from the Malone Foundation will enable Pulaski Academy to enroll deserving, academically gifted students who otherwise would not be able to attend our school,” said Dr. Joe Hatcher. “This provides a great opportunity for the students and for the institution.”
The Malone fund allows for support of certain school-related expenses over and above tuition, including book fees, computers and other educational materials, field trips, summer courses, and fees for participation in school-sponsored competitions.
The Malone Family Foundation was founded in 1997 by Dr. John C. Malone, well known communications and media executive and investor, and his family, with one principal objective: to improve access to quality education — particularly at the secondary school level — for gifted students who lack the financial resources to best develop their talents.
